With opening night ticking closer, theater students are building sets and running lines to prepare for the fall production of “Legally Blonde: The Musical,” which runs Nov. 17-19.
Junior Ellia Godasi was casted for five different roles in the production, and she said “it’s been super fun,” bringing the iconic production to life.
“I’m very excited to finally put it on stage,” Godasi said. “It’s been really cool to meet new people and to do a show at West,” junior Ellia Godasi said. “The hardest part so far was learning the choreography. Learning the dances, some of the moves are a little hard, the songs are very upbeat, and I play a lot of the characters.”
Along with the preparations, junior Tekiyah Arnot said the students who put in the work to prepare and rehearse their lines make the best actors by building confidence and skills.
“Anybody can be just as good as a person, no matter how they look,” Arnot said. “It doesn’t matter how you look or act.”
With tech week underway, junior Mia Pollak said it’s been exciting to see it all come together.
“It’s been a little bit stressful, but it’s been very fun to see everything, all the work, coming together,” junior Mia Pollak said. “It’s been hard learning the music. Most of it on my own plus doing it backstage with the band.”
Tickets are on sale at HomeTown Ticketing for $11 for students and sale will end Friday Nov. 14. Non-student price is $16. Click here to purchase tickets to the different shows.
