As elections for senior class president get underway, juniors Kendall Conant and Kaylen Rodriguez face each other to determine who will represent the class of 2027. Students have until 5 p.m. Thursday, March 5, to cast their vote on the Google Form for which candidate they want to choose.
“It’s important to look for someone who’s not only adamant about creating new events for seniors, but also advocating for others,” current senior class president Alex Tran said. “Anything that would help the senior class as their last year and set up whoever would come after them as well.”
According to junior class president Raneem Khoja, leadership is an essential aspect of running for the position, and the position is a year-long role that requires representing the entire senior class.
“I want to run for senior class president because I want to make a difference on our senior year,” Conant said. “And make [senior year] a year that everyone can remember.”

Because of her drive for inclusivity, Rodriguez said this was a driving force behind her campaign.
“My top priority is to include everyone,” Rodriguez said. “I want everyone to feel involved and no one to feel left out. I want to make events that everyone wants to come to and make senior year as memorable as possible.”
With such an important year approaching, juniors are looking forward to the new year and hope to make lasting memories for the last year in high school.
“As an incoming senior, the qualities that I look for in my senior class president are someone who is responsible, caring and considerate of all the people in our grade,” junior Jayla Young said. “I’m excited to see next year’s senior class president, and I’m looking forward to the events that will be held in order to make our senior year memorable.”
Students can tune into the announcements for the results.
