To help students prepare for finals, the AVID and student council members hosted a StudyStayDay, Thursday, Dec. 11, from 4:45–7 p.m.
Throughout December, AVID student members hosted several study sessions to allow students an opportunity to work together and get assistance before final exams.
“I’ve been reviewing all the material that we’ve been given over the year and ask my teachers, specifically for help, been going to tutorials as well with stuff I’m confused on,” senior Sean Noe said. “There is many things I’m struggling with right now and being able to have access to easy tutorials is really helpful to me and for my academic future.”
AVID is a resource for students to research and learn how to manage their time and to prepare for college readiness, and to help prepare for future struggles in career readiness.
“The best part of this event is being able to study with my friends and my teachers and also being able to see the help that they need,” Noe said.
After the HoliStayDay event, junior Cherish Copeland said events like this offer other benefits outside of just the additional tutoring and study time.
“Hanging out with friends and spending time with the people here, especially if you have senior friends, is just very fun,” Copeland said. “And there’s food. I love food.”
Events like the StudyStayDay offer students opportunities to study for and feel more confident for their finals
“As the finals are coming up, I’m feeling a little bit stressed out and not so confident, so with the StudyStayDay, I’m hoping to be able to focus and be more confident before my exams.,” senior Juan May Miralrio said.
