Fashion is at its highest peak this year and everyone is taking part in it. Men’s fashion has become just as important as women’s.
“I feel like many guys do not care too much about how they look or carry themselves,” junior Tanner Birdwell said. “Even men should be able to express themselves through their clothes, which is very important to me. I always like to look my best.”
Looking good is an important factor in everyone’s life, female or male. People are known to judge others by not only how they speak, think or apply themselves, but also by their appearance. Looking good can benefit many aspects of a man’s life. It can help with getting jobs, meeting people, meeting a special loved one and boosting self-confidence.
“Urban Outfitters is definitely my favorite store to shop,” Birdwell said. “I really like the variety of each brand throughout the store.”
Many stores have expanded their choices for men’s clothing to fit the popular styles. Urban Outfitters, H&M, J. Crew, Neimans and Lacoste are common stores that offer both the modern classic and urban looks.
“While I tend to dress more on the preppy side, I do not just stick to one style,” junior Javier Barrientos said. “I try to mix it up and wear whatever I think looks good. If you can make it look good, then go for it.”
There are many different varieties of styles that men can choose from, especially this season. Polos and khaki shorts with Sperrys will always be a classic choice. A new trend this season is color blocking. Color blocking works best with polos, t-shirts, khaki pants and khaki shorts. There are many choices for the urban look. Slim pants and earth toned button ups can be pared with the popular oxford shoes. Desert boots and combat boots are also an edgy look for eye catching.
“My style is unique because most men do not wear leopard shorts and $500 scarves,” senior Dimitri Gamulkiewicz said.
Being original is important, especially when trying to be noticed. Men should not be afraid to be themselves and look good. The classic look can never go wrong, but sometimes mixing it up does not hurt.
“I do not think fashion is the most important thing in the world, but everyone wants to look good,” Gamulkiewicz said. “The thing is guys have limited options, so looking good is kind of a no brainer.”
