The flowers are blooming and the sun is peeking through the clouds stretching its legs for warmth. It is time to pack up the scarves and sweaters. This season spring fashion is going to make a statement that can stand for anyone’s unique style with a mix of pieces that everyone can mold into their own.
”I think a lot of natural colors and floral designs are going to be popular in spring.” junior Meghan Gahmil said. “My favorite thing about spring fashion is the different cute sandals and dresses I get to wear. My favorite stores to buy clothes at are the Impeccable Pig, Cotton Island, and Aritzia.”
If your style consists of chic and city like apparel, some pieces you might consider adding is a sleek anorak. These are a sly way to add warmth and protection on a rainy day without bulk. A gray or brown anorak is what’s suggested by Glamour magazine.
”I think that some new trends for the spring will be fedora hats, wedge shoes, blazers and high waists,” junior Tytiana Jackson said.
The hottest color to wear this coming season is the beautiful shade of tangerine tango. Are you not feeling the tangerine? There are lighter and darker hues of orange that can suit to your taste. Tangerine is also a nice color to wear as a nail color. It compliments a lot of skin tones and is a tasteful look for this season.
“My edginess, most times I am a very shy person,” Jackson said. “But I try an exert my edge and aggressive throughout my style.”
For the daring fashionistas, some extravagant styles to try are an entire exciting color blocking outfits and vibrant bold print suits. With so much going on in the outfit, it would be a good idea to go simple with your makeup, hair and shoes.
“I think that colored skinny jeans have become really popular and also scarves, not just for winter but year-round because there are some that have really fun colors and prints for a more spring centered wardrobe,” junior Paige Craig said. “Also big bracelets, like chunky ones, and color blocking is getting really popular, too.”
A more preppy, girly trend to try is a pink suit. Glamour suggests wearing on piece from the outfit, like just the jacket with jeans. This trend was not accepted as wearable at first, but more people are subject to trying it out.
“I would wear the pink jacket with probably high waisted jeans and a cami, and then some killer heels and possibly a scarf,” junior Paige Craig said. “And the pants would depend. I might wear them with like a white blouse with one of those skinny belts and some really big earrings.”
All stores incorporate the newest trends to fit their image. So no matter what your style consists of or morphs into when your mood has changed, there is a store to buy what you love. Each year spring fashion is the most fun to experiment with. The mix of warm weather and a pinch of cold fronts create a season of fun mixes and trials of different garments.
“For style icons, I really love Jessica Alba’s style as well as Hilary Duff,” junior Paige Craig said. “They have a really casual chic style, but I am just obsessed with fashion in general so really anything inspires me.”
