Thanksgiving is a widely celebrated holiday that helps us recognize and appreciate family, friends and the blessings of life. Since each family has their own way of observing this holiday, here are how some fellow Wolves celebrate Thanksgiving.

Are there any special traditions you have for Thanksgiving?

“Every Thanksgiving, my family and I will always watch the Cowboys football game in the afternoon after a great feast.” – Hayden Ponder, junior

“Last year during Thanksgiving I played Super Smash Bros, but usually I go volunteer at the Turkey Trot downtown with my friends.” – Chelsey Wen, senior

“My mom usually cooks every year. We try not to have anything delivered or pre-made. My mom tries to make everything. My favorite part is everyone being together because there’s something special when everyone takes the time to be there.” – Chris Progler, senior

What is your favorite part of Thanksgiving celebrations?

“We eat turkey, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and cornbread. Everyone gathers around and has a good time. My favorite part is having family close by, eating and talking.” – JuJuan Hendrickson, senior

“We have my extended family come over, which is nice. We make two pies: cherry and pumpkin. My favorite part is all the silliness of eating so much and all of the jokes about gaining 10 pounds.” – Amanda Fry, senior

“My dad deep fries the turkey every year, and my mom makes all the traditional dishes like mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. But my favorite part of Thanksgiving is having a week off school and Black Friday shopping.” – Mallory Chance, junior
