Teacher Feature: Coach Meghann Dodd

Molly Shipper, Staff Writer

What is your favorite memory from teaching? “ I have so many! One would be from my anatomy class dissections. The students and I got to dissect the heart of a pig and it was awesome. Another favorite memory is hearing a parent talking about how my class really inspired them to recycle more and save water.”

If you weren’t teaching what would you do?  “I would work with an exotic cat or tiger rescue or maybe be a photographer for National Geographic.”

What made you start teaching? “My love for teaching came later in life after college. I was influenced by so many amazing teachers. I wanted to give back in the same way.”

What is some advice you have for students? “Always do your best. Take responsibility and ownership of what you do. Never stop believing in yourself.”

What are your hobbies? “I do musicals at a local theatre. I also do makeup for photoshoots and weddings.”

What are your pet peeves? “My pet peeves are lies, rudeness and excuses.”
