2015 Children’s Red Balloon Run and Ride

Where: Children’s Medical Center Plano, 7601 Preston Rd., Plano

Price: Adults – $35

This is a fundraiser produced by Passion for Children’s. There are many different ways to participate in this fundraiser, including running in a 5K or cycling to raise money for Children’s Hospital. For those that do not want to participate in the 5K, they can participate in the “sleep ins” part by paying to sponsor someone running the 5K.

Big D Texas Marathon

When: April 11

Where: Grand Place Building at Fair Park, 1300 Robert B Cullum Blvd., Dallas

Price: $109

The marathon starts at the location of the State Fair of Texas and takes you through the scenic views that Dallas has to offer. Runners will get to pass by White Rock Lake and the Santa Fe Trail, before returning to the starting point.

Earth Day Texas

When: April 24-26

Where: Fair Park, 1300 Robert B Cullum Blvd., Dallas

Price: Free

Learn to promote environmental awareness at this outdoor festival.The event encourages participators to think, build and work in an eco-friendly environment. With over 1,000 exhibitors, 70,000 people are expected to attend this event to educate themselves.

Where: Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden, 8525 Garland Rd., Dallas

Come to the largest flower festival in the Southwest. This year’s festival contains over 500,000 blooming spring bulbs, themed topiaries, entertainment and food. There are also other activities that celebrate how unique our state is.

“Peanuts… Naturally”

When: Feb. 4- April 22

Where: 636 S. Main St., Grapevine

Price: Free

In this informative event, people get to experience all the thought that Charles Schulz put into the comic strip Peanuts. People get a view of how Schulz saw the natural world. This show is for people of all ages to appreciate the natural world.

 

Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival

When: April 9-12

Where: Main St., Ft. Worth

Price: Free

Come browse art, listen to street music and enjoy street performances as well. There will be food, but coupons must be bought in order to purchase food.

18th Big Mamou Cajun Festival

When: April 11-12, 18-19

Where: Trader’s Village, 2602 Mayfield Rd., Grand Prairie

Price: Free; Parking $4

Get up and dance at this fun filled event. Come enjoy authentic Cajun music, food and bargains. It will be one of fun and excitement.
