Although Microsoft has grown to be Apple’s biggest competitor, Apple is currently ahead of the game. By creating new and innovative devices that Apple has never done before, Microsoft is slowly making their way up on the popularity scale, but Apple has remained number one for many years.

On Nov. 8, 2014, NorthPark Mall opened a huge Microsoft store to advertise their new products but mainly to compete with Apple. Their store is bigger, brighter and more colorful than ever before. Microsoft has created more high-tech products to better their company. They are known for going outside the box, whereas Apple stays on the safe side. Recently, the new Dell XPS 13 laptop was released in the Microsoft store with the world’s first infinity display. This laptop retails for $899, which is significantly cheaper than Apple laptops.

Along with the new XPS, they have a vast selection of tablets available, some of which you can use a stylus pen to write notes on. They also sell keyboards you can attach and detach from your tablet. This is a new and unique way to use technology. Microsoft also sells computers that have screens you can turn around and use as a tablet. Apple does not currently have anything like this, besides the iPads.

Even though Microsoft has grown significantly over the past few years, there are many reasons why Apple is number one.

First off, Apple products are easy to use. Most of their products are one-button devices. This makes it simple so that a young child or older person can use these products with ease. In comparison to Samsung devices with five-plus buttons on the front, it can be confusing and intimidating to use. Next, they offer great customer service, such as the Genius Bar. You are able to set up a one-on-one appointment to learn how to use products with a professional or discuss repair prices if your device breaks. Employees at Apple are always polite and ensure that you are informed on the product you are going to buy. Most importantly, instead of inventing new products, they make more advanced and superior recreations of the original. If Microsoft makes a new phone, Apple is determined to make a better model. They always stay at least two years ahead of their competitors. Along with that, Apple’s results are what everybody remembers most. Their products are a reminder that these devices are made by humans, not magicians. Every product they create is made with precision to ensure that is perfectly right and easy to use.

The controversy between Apple and Microsoft is never-ending, but Apple is number one on the charts, not only because they are an efficient company, but they are driven to make better products, and the simplicity of the products make it entertaining for people to use.
