Restaurants on the Rise in Plano

West Plano continues to cement its reputation as a growing, thriving suburb by constructing new restaurants in the area. The food industry has moved to the West Plano area and set up restaurants for people to enjoy. Eatzi’s Eatery was one of the latest restaurants to open in September of last year and has received a good amount of publicity. Early 2015 is expected to be the next restaurant explosion with four new places opening. Princi Italia, Pakpao, Mi Dia From Scratch and Kona Grill are restaurants that will make their way into the area next year. The new restaurants being added will give students who go out for lunch a variety of choices for students to choose from.

“With all the new places of food, it gives the students more of a variety of food to eat,” senior Ashley Ardis said. “It could also affect some students who want to eat in a healthy way.”

Three of the four new restaurants have North Texan roots. Because they have been in the North Texas area before, people will have a better idea of where to go since they have been to the restaurants before. The development of West Plano has increased in the last decade, and the construction of the restaurants will occupy one of the last remaining corners of the Tollway.

“I think this will open up options for students,” senior Mitchell Bradley said. “Now there is a large array of options to choose from. There are many different genres of restaurants all with different price ranges, and all within a very short distance from the school.”

There are many people who like going to new places to eat, and with the increase in restaurants in West Plano, people will have more options to enjoy.

“I think all the new restaurants will give students an interesting variety on where and what they can eat,” junior Jacob Farber said. “Instead of going to the usual fast food restaurants, which are unhealthy, they can go to a more nutritional place for lunch.”

The recent developments of the West Plano food industry will also be greatly advantageous to those who are forced to drive long distances to restaurants they enjoy. Now they can drive a few minutes to one of their favorite places to eat in West Plano. The construction will be a long process, but in the end, there will be many options for the public to eat and enjoy.

“I think the addition of the new restaurants will greatly benefit Plano West,” Farber said.
