Live Music Around Plano

Sometimes the students of West need to relax after a long week of homework, tests and stress. A great way to wind down is to sit back and enjoy a live music show—but who has the time to take the 30-minute drive all the way down to Dallas? H­­ere are a few of the live music venues right in Plano.

Taverna Rossa, a newly opened pizza joint, features live music every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. The genre of music ranges from blues to country to rock, and each band is located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Taverna Rossa is located on the southwest corner of Preston and Spring Creek in the Lakeside Plaza at 4005 Preston Road.

Café Bohemia is a quiet “art café” in East Plano. It has a gift shop on the side and serves deli-style foods and all types of coffees, along with other limitless non-alcoholic drink choices. They feature artwork from local artists and have regular Friday and Saturday night live music shows. Café Bohemia is located on the northeast corner of Los Rios and Park at 2320 Lost Rios Boulevard.

Named the highest-rated German restaurant in Texas by the ZAGAT survey eight years in a row since 2006, Bavarian Grill boasts “great food, fun atmosphere, beautiful décor, generous portions and reasonable prices.” They also showcase different bands every night that perform traditional German music such as polkas. Bavarian Grill is located on Parker and 75 at 221 West Parker Road.

A quaint and quiet coffee shop in Downtown Plano, Fourteen Eighteen Coffeehouse is home to the best pumpkin latte in Dallas, as recognized by Side Dish in D Magazine. The coffeehouse brews local coffee from Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters, serves teas, grab and go items, sandwiches, cakeballs from locally based Amazeballs and more. Fourteen Eighteen Coffeehouse is located on 14th Street and K Avenue at 1418 K Avenue.
