For seniors, graduating from high school is scary enough. Think about leaving the country for college. This is what senior, Radhika Sudhir is planning for her college experience. She has been in the United States for three years with her family, and has decided that moving back to India is in her future.
“I was accepted into Bharati Vidyapeeth University in India,” Sudhir said. “I’m an Indian citizen and so, rather than pay International tuition, I wanted to go to college abroad.
It is hard enough for parents to realize their baby is all grown up and moving out and into their young adult life. What is it like for parents whose child is moving out and overseas? The disconnection could be quite hard to adjust to, but Sudhir’s parents think otherwise.
“My family absolutely loves that I decided to go out of the country and completely supports my decision,” Sudhir said.
Sudhir is a hardworking student at Plano West like many others and it reflects in colleges wanting her to be a part of their campus. She is aspiring to study different fields in the science branch.
“I got into a few other schools in India, but I chose this one because it’s located in a great city near Bombay and they have a really good science department,” Sudhir said.
The whole idea of studying in India has brought about the idea of how exciting the world can be for a young spirit to explore.
“I am hoping that studying out of the country will mirror what I hope to do in the future,” Sudhir said. “I see myself living in foreign and exotic places.”
