Pinterest is a hot new website that is quickly gaining popularity. It allows poeple to express their interests in pictures by ‘repinning’ them to their board.

“I love Pinterest because it keeps me entertained for hours, and I always see the cutest and coolest stuff on there,” junior Kamilla Rahman said. “It is really addicting.”

Pinterest has a large variety of pictures, from the latest fashions to food to scenery and more. Users can follow other pinners that post pictures they are interested in and make different boards for all kinds of pictures.

“Pinterest is unique because you do not have to focus on one thing,” junior Christina Wu said. “You can have a ton of different boards for different things. I love being able to go through all of the categories and seeing the different pictures.”

In just a couple of months, Pinterest has become astoundingly popular. It went from being worth 40 million to over 200 million dollars. In order to become a member, you must give them your email address and you will be put on a waiting list. Pinterest administrators will send you a sign up email when they are ready for you to sign up. If you are not a member, you can still browse the site and look at the different picture categories.

“I love it,” junior Dorian Nelson said. “It is super fun to look at everything people are into and get ideas for baking, cooking or crafts.”

 Pinterest is said to be similar to other websites such as Tumblr and Instagram, but it is unique because it allows you to easily explore the site and see everything that others post. If you wish to share a picture, you can easily take one with the app or upload one onto the site from your computer. It is easy to use and very addicting. Pinterest is available in the app store and online.

“I think what makes Pinterest so fun and addicting is that you can look at all types of pictures and it gives you ideas for making things,” Rahman said.
