For every celebration gathering a sweet delight is necessary. Recently cupcakes have taken over cakes as the choice for birthday parties, events and weddings. There are many advantages to the newly preferred cupcakes over the classic choice of a single cake.
“I got the idea to use cupcakes instead of cakes from watching Cupcake Wars,” senior Kyra Hochberg said. “All the things they can do with cupcakes is amazing.”
The popularity for cupcakes has risen over time. The popular show Cake Wars is not the only show around to get great ideas for events. Cupcake Wars has become a great watch for designers and people getting ready for their big event.
“I love Sprinkles Cupcakes,” junior Rebecca Infante said. “There are so many choices and the flavors are very tasty.”
Numerous cupcake bakeries have sprung up in Plano, Frisco and Dallas. They now not only offer the delightful snack of a cupcake but are able to bake orders of amazing creations for events and celebrations. Sprinkles Cupcakes, Elizabeth’s Cakes, Dimples Cupcake Factory and Sugar Queen Cupcakes offer a great variety of cupcake designs in the area. Even grocery stores offer cupcake cakes for events and birthdays.
“I think cupcakes are cute and little,” junior Brittany Lewis said, “I love that you can get an assortment of different flavors.”
Choosing cupcakes over cakes have many advantages over the variety and design. Cupcake bakeries offer endless amounts of design choices that you can mix and match together to fit your theme and preference. A choice of variety in flavor is also a plus, giving the crowd a chance to eat their favorite flavors. The arrangement choice also has a wider variety over cakes.
“I would choose cupcakes over cakes any day,” senior Austin Payne said.
Overall, choosing cupcakes over cakes is the better choice in many ways. With cupcakes a larger amount of creativity is available to fit your theme and style. They are also cheaper compared to cakes which are four to five dollars a slice and cupcakes are one to two dollars each.
“Even though the cupcakes are small, they have the ability to make a unique creative impact at parties,” junior Rebecca Infante said.
