In Texas, high school football is king. Friday night lights are worshiped by Texans near and far. Because of their love for the sport, football is extremely competitive, especially in Texas.
In district 6-6A, the Allen Eagles lead the way with an undefeated record through week seven, going 4-0 in division play with a few games left in the season. Allen, led by head coach Terry Gambill, is more noticeably recognized not only in Texas, but across the nation, being ranked second in the state and 16th nationally through seven weeks of play. Allen’s next game is against division opponent Plano East at Allen Eagle Stadium this Friday.
All of the games this week and for the rest of the season for division 6-6A will be played against another division opponent, and now is the time for some teams in the middle of the conference standings to compete for playoff contention spots.
