NMHS Film Review of the Week: Palo Alto

paloaltoposterDirected by first time film maker Gia Copola and based on the stories written by actor James Franco, Palo Alto is an absolute teenage dream. Parties, first loves, and even arrests; its high school on the big screen, and accurate too!

The soft-shot film switches from Fred (Nat Wolfe), April (Emma Roberts), and Teddy (Jack Kilmer) through their high school experiences. By the end of the movie you feel as if you know them and can even find bits of yourself through out the three. They truly are the best friends you never had.

Gia Coppola, who is niece to Sofia (The Bling Ring) and grand daughter of Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather), comes from a family who’s strong suit is teenagers. Let me tell you, Gia did not shame the family name. Adolescence never looked so gorgeous.

Palo Alto is available to rent from Red Box or On-Demand and is available for purchase on I-Tunes or your local DVD distributer.
