Book Review: Slammed by Coleen Hoover

images-1     Recently I read a book called ‘Slammed’. The book was written by Colleen Hoover, a new adult author. Her books are all very emotional and they all give you new ideas and perspectives on life. She is a great author and tells stories as if she’d experienced them herself. It was a realistic fiction book that revolved around slam poetry. The book is a love story between Lake and Will. Lake is a senior in high school who moved away from home with her mom and little brother. She is upset about the move at first; until she meets Will, the man across the street. It is dramatic, emotional, and overall entertaining. I got the book for my birthday and as soon as I started reading the book it was impossible for me to put it down. Slammed is the first book in a three book series. I was so enthralled in the book that I finished all three books in one night. If you are experiencing the loss of a loved one or if love just isn’t going your way, this book is definitely for you. I enjoyed the plot, setting, and all of the characters. The story is one that is told well and I would definitely read it again. The book is amazing. Colleen Hoover works magic with her words, displaying the turmoils of life, death, and loss in such detail. The book has a realistic take on death and made me cry at some parts. In my opinion, Slammed is a ten out of ten. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading as much as I do.
